Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi has tweeted that a Gran Turismo 5 date announcement is imminent.
“It looks like the release date is about to be announced,” he wrote on Twitter according to Andriasang’s translation.
Gran Turismo 5 has been firmly dated only once before, at E3 this year, when PlayStation 3 platform holder Sony said to expect it on 3rd November, but the release was delayed last month.

Research suggests tidy profit per unit.
If you were to go shopping for all the constituent parts of Microsoft’s Kinect peripheral you’d land up with a bill for an estimated £34, according to tech analysis published today.
EE Times has reported that a teardown analysis performed by technology consultants UBM TechInsights attributes $17 (£11) of the total to Kinect’s PrimeSense reference system, which incorporates the cameras, microphones and central processor.
The rest of the total is split between around 20 other parts.

Internet hype is a silly thing. Countdown clocks are bad enough, but now we have trailers for trailers, teasers for trailers for teasers for trailers, teasers for countdown clocks for trailers for teasers for countdown clocks, and today, an announcement for an announcement. Which essentially is an announcement, just with a pre-emptive double dip. It’s the publicity version of standing between two mirrors and seeing your reflection extended out into infinity in both directions.
But regardless of nonsensical multi-layering of hype, THQ’s previously-mentioned-by-50-Cent Saints Row movie is soon to become official. …

Sources close to film director Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming videogame project with THQ have said that the upcoming title will actually be an RPG trilogy. According to MMOMFG, the director of Pan’s Labyrinth visited the office of development studio Volition in Illinois, where it was revealed that the series will be “along the lines of Mass Effect.” Other details from sources confirm that the trilogy will have Locecraftian horror themes and that the plot will involve inter-dimensional travel… … -

More patches to come for PS3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops (Call of Duty: Black Ops)
Nov 12, 2010Treyarch has confirmed that the PS3 version of CoD: Black Ops needs patching by announcing that it has released, and will continue to release bug-fixing patches.
As was noted by many players on the day following the game’s release, there were numerous errors and glitches popping up on the PS3 that no one playing the 360 version seemed to be experiencing. Treyarch’s patch is targeting only the PS3, so that speculation has been verified… …
