Nintendo will ship 3DS remake of Legend of Zelda classic on June 19; new bundle to feature Wii Remote Plus, all-new mini-game compilation; full spring schedule inside.
Last September, Nintendo pegged the 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a spring 2011 release. Today, the game giant finally dated the title, which will make the spring launch window–barely. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will launch in North America on Sunday, June 19, two days before summer officially begins. The game is a portable, reworked version of the 1998 classic for the Nintendo 64.
Six days before Ocarina of Time sounds off on Nintendo’s new handheld, the company will release a sequel to its wildly successful Wii Play controller-and-minigame bundle. Called Wii Play: Motion, the new bundle will sport a black Wii Remote Plus and an all-new compilation of 12 minigames. Among the minigames described are an umbrella-based gliding game and a whack-a-mole-type garden-pest control title involving a virtual mallet.
Ocarina’s dating and Wii Play: Motion’s announcement were part of Nintendo’s unveiling of its entire spring slate. On the Wii, highlights include The Conduit 2 (April 12), Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game (May), Thor: God of Thunder (May 3) and Mystery Case Files: Dust to Dust (June 27). The DS suite of systems will get Duke Nukem: Critical Mass (Q2), Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters (June 7), and Transformers: Dark of the Moon: Autobots and Decepticons (June 14). Last but not least, the 3DS will see the release of Dead or Alive Dimensions (May), BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II, (May 24) Cave Story 3D (June 28), and Transformers: Dark of the Moon Stealth Force Edition 3D (June 14).
